About the association

The New York City Association of Hotel Concierges® brings together the Concierges of New York's hotels. Since 1987 it has set high professional and ethical standards and connected colleagues across the city.

Members gather at monthly general meetings, learn from one another at seminars and partner events, and stand by colleagues in hard times through the Crisis Fund.

Our mission

  • Set the standard

Establish and promote high professional and ethical standards for Concierges.

  • Support the profession

Coordinate, promote and assist the activities and interests of Concierges.

  • Build friendships

Foster friendship and communication among Concierges throughout New York City, the United States and the world.

Our roots

Modeled on Les Clefs d'Or

NYCAHC was established in New York in 1987, modeled after the Union Internationale des Concierges d'Hôtels, known as Les Clefs d'Or International, and its United States chapter, Les Clefs d'Or USA.

Member Concierges accommodate every guest request, so long as it is ethical, legal and humanly possible.

Our history

From one national meeting to a New York association of hotel Concierges.

  1. 1985

At a Les Clefs d'Or USA congress in New Orleans, New York Concierges Manny Mulero, Herb Tepper and John Neary volunteer to host the next national meeting.

  2. 1986

The national meeting comes to New York, with a Broadway show and a gala at Windows on the World.

  3. 1987

A committee of five meets at the Essex House and draws straws to choose a leader. John Neary becomes the first president.

  4. 2003

The NYCAHC Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3), is founded so members can give back to the city.

  5. 2012

The Crisis Fund begins helping members through a loss of job or income, an involuntary separation or a death in the family.

  6. Today
