THE NEW YORK CITY ASSOCIATION OF HOTEL CONCIERGES HELP MAKE THE HOLIDAY SEASON MAGICAL TO THE LESS FORTUNATE IN THE SOUTH BRONX

New York, NY (December 20, 2015) – The New York City Association of Hotel Concierges (NYCAHC) along with some of its Corporate Members, in partnership with The Water Club restaurant, hosted the NYCAHC Holiday Party and Charitable Drive, an annual tradition of celebration and giving back, on December 13th, 2015.

Attendees celebrated the holiday season, but the main focus was not lost at this charitable endeavor-each attendee brought gifts to donate to the community. The recipients of this year’s donations are Women In Need, Safe Horizon, and Caldwell Soup Kitchen in the South Bronx. The NYCAHC also donated over $15,000 to seven NYC-based charities including: SHARE Cancer Treatment, Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids, Women In Need, Safe Horizon, and Caldwell Soup Kitchen.

Loida Diaz, President of the New York City Association of Hotel Concierges and Concierge at the Trump International Hotel and Tower said:

The arrival of winter is a magical time of year when families celebrate the holidays, enjoy the solstice, and anticipate the prosperity of a new year. Every child should feel the hope and joy associated with these seasonal festivities, and every parent should feel the dignity and confidence to provide for their family. In response, our members and affiliates donated needed items for the season-unwrapped toys, toiletries, and winter clothing-to benefit local charities. The unwrapped toys were hand delivered by a group of NYCAHC volunteers to children at the Caldwell Soup Kitchen and neighboring shelters in the South Bronx.

I give my sincere thanks to the attendees of NYCAHC Holiday Party and Charitable Drive for their attendance and generous donations. I also need to thank our volunteers who helped bring smiles and happiness to those less fortunate this holiday season. I also want to acknowledge and thank Quality Tours who provided roundtrip transfers for our volunteers in the South Bronx.
A special thank you to our friend, Max, who, once again, played the part of Santa Claus for the 200 children that were in attendance.
